It is with tenderness and sadness that we announce the passing of our courageous and spirited mother, Carole, who undertook a battle with ovarian cancer and gained precious, family time for five, glorious years. Carole took her last breaths lovingly surrounded by adoring family. Her passing occurred December 19, 2010 in her Kitimat home. Carole has created an eternal home in the hearts of family, relatives, and friends.
Her children are Terry, Deborah (Sonnie), Sandy (Gary), Joe (Chris), and Brenda (Mario). Her ten grandchildren–the recipients of many sugar cookies and love, are Jesse, Shawn, Melissa, Lauren, Emily, Blayze, Justine, Kayla-Kelly, Ashley, Jordan and great grandchildren–Benjamin and Brooklyn.
Carole was a constant friend and will be sadly missed by sisters, Lynda and Sandra, and brothers, Larry (Denise), Gerry (Lorraine), Joe, and sister-in-law, Birdie. Predeceased by her husband, Henri, parents Betty and Ted Harding, and brothers, James and Tom. The family would like to thank Kitimat, palliative nurses and home care workers for exceptional care. The family would also like to thank the many Vernon residents who offered up prayers, especially the children of St. James School, as those children’s prayers touched Carole’s heart.
A service celebrating Carole’s life will be held at West Edmonton Christian Assembly–6315 – 199 Street on Saturday, January 8, at 1:30 PM. Cremation has taken place and Carole will be laid to rest in her bench with Henri at the Westlawn Memorial Gardens in Edmonton.
