Caroline Joan Wood

Joan Wood daughter of Peter and Edith Grieser of Taber was first and foremost a mother of four boys whom she loved unconditionally and gave her life too. She was a wife to her husband whom she loved until the day she died. Countless people will miss Joan¹s ability to be a caregiver, supporter and a loving friend. She passes away peacefully Sunday morning at the Burnaby General Hospital after battling breast cancer. Joan was married to Brent Hacking Wood in 1972 at Cardston Alberta and enjoyed a life together full of love and family. Joan gave life to four boys and helped raise them into men together with Brent, the eldest being McKay 35, Tyler 26, Landon 23, Casey 19, and one grandchild Banyan 2. After the death of Brent she battled cancer with more vigor then seen in any other person. She showed her family and friends her ability to commit and follow through while never loosing her optimistic nature. She gave others the ability to let them believe they were beautiful. She herself was beautiful and always spread beauty where ever she went both physically and emotionally. A funeral will be held in her remembrance Friday August 21st at 2 pm with a viewing of the body starting at 1pm. The service will be held at 2170 McDougall Road, West Kelowna. Burial service will be held in the Cardston, Alberta Cemetery on Monday Aug 24th at 11am.
