August 3, 1917 - November 5, 2018
We rejoice with her that God has called Cecilia home; an amazing woman who enhanced the life of everyone she came in contact with. She was born 12 miles south of Regina on the homestead farm, to Albert and Isabella Snell. She had 4 brothers (Vodden, Everett, her twin John, and Laverne) and grew up on a mixed farm. She graduated as a Regina Grey Nuns Nurse in 1942. Upon graduation, in order to see as much of Saskatchewan as possible she worked in five locations as a relief nurse.

When trying to decide to move East or West, she froze her ears and bought a one-way ticket to Vancouver. She nursed in Vancouver where she met her husband Rae. They were married in 1946. In 1950 they moved to Rossland, BC where she was in charge of Maternity, the Caseroom and the Nursery. She worked in five different hospitals in BC during her career. Together she and Rae built a house to live in. She had 2 daughters. Dawn became a Forester and Robin had dual careers in the Ministry and in Health Care (as a LPN and Recreation Coordinator for Seniors). She and Rae moved to Victoria in 1973. He made his transition in 1987. In 2008 she moved to Vernon.

A woman of strong Faith, she loved her family. Left behind to celebrate her life are her 2 daughters, and 3 grandchildren; Jonathan, Stephen, and Rachel (Delbert). Also, many nieces, nephews; their children and grandchildren and many friends.

She has left the world a better place by being in it. We give thanks for the life of Cecilia State.
