April 2, 2022
In loving memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Auguste Dupuis on April 2, 2022 at the age of 91.
Charlie is predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Evelyn Bell; his parents, Adelard Dupuis and Odiana Francoeur; stepson Stephen (Doris) Bell, siblings, Blanche, Yvonne, Andrew, Edward, Rita (Henry) Meixner, Gisele (Paul) Jolicoeur. He is further survived by his stepdaughter Margaret Dixon; grandchildren David Bell, Ross Dixon, Stacey (Gary) Hollings; great- grandchildren Jazeen Hollings, Joshua (Cailen) Hollings and great-great grandchildren Ivern and Evelyn Hollings. He is further survived by several nephews and grand nephews.
Charlie was born in LaSare Quebec and began working as a teenager with his father cooking in logging camps and boats on Lake Abitibi. He followed that up with a position as locomotive engineer at Island Falls Ont. He married Evelyn Bell in 1955 and moved for work in the USA and then to Northern Ontario. After a holiday trip across Canada Charlie & Evelyn decided to settle in Enderby where Charlie has lived since. He purchased the Enderby Lodge & made many friends during the several years he owned the lodge. He loved to make wine & loved to share a glass with friends and neighbors.
Charlie was the glue that held our family together, its backbone. He was always there for us. He supported all our ventures and helped educate our younger generations.
Charlie was a kind, generous and honorable man and the world will be a lesser place with his passing.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Parkview Place Enderby for the wonderful care he received over the last 8 months.
A luncheon at noon on May 4 in Charlie's honor will be held at the Enderby Seniors Centre 1101 George St Enderby BC with a celebration of life to follow.
