Charles Allen Hill, March 3, 1920 – March 25, 2004. Passed away at home after a lengthy battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister. Survived by wife, Nancy, children Sidney, Loreen (Robert), Rita (Ian), Susan (Vic), David (Delia); 11 grandchildren Carrie (Dave), Kevin, Rachelle, Stephanie, Nicole (Brian), Marie, John, Tracey, Christina, Grey and Hunter; 3 great-grandchildren Daemond, Jade, Dyllan; 2 nephews Joey and Don and 1 niece, Cynthia. Charlie was born in High River, AB, and served in WW2 with the 15th Canadian Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery 1941-1945 as a Radio-Operator, seeing action in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. Charlie was also a member of the Operating Engineers, Local 115, and worked throughout BC on several dams – Mica Dam, Revelstoke, Hudson Hope and Nechako; also worked on numerous pipelines across Canada. Charlie first came through Falkland in 1949 while working on the highway between Falkland and Kamloops. He and Nancy settled in Falkland in 1955 to raise their children. Charlie was active in looking after the skating rink for many years as well as volunteering during Falkland Stampede days. No service by request.
