Charles Murray Fairweather passed away on May 01, 2018 in Vernon, BC at the age of 90 years.

Charles is survived by his children: Sharon (Bill) Randell of Quispamsis, New Brunswick, and Murray (Doreen) Fairweather of Lake Country, BC;  grandchildren: Brent (Kerry) Fairweather, Leslie (Todd) Stockdale, Christine (Greg) Pond, Jaqueline (Rob) Smith, and Judd (Sue) Randell; great-grandchildren: Tysen and Kylie Fairweather, Tayler and Cooper Stockdale, Robyn and Lily Randell, and Henry Pond; his extended family: Art and Jill Jones, Pearl Fairweather, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by his parents, William and Annie Fairweather; his cherished wife of 65 years, Elizabeth (Betty) Fairweather; and his siblings: Myra Deschamps, William, Len, and Jack Fairweather.

Charles was born on December 24, 1927 in Tantallon, Saskatchewan. His family moved to Allen, Sk. and then to a farm south of Saskatoon. In 1942 he started work with the Sask Wheat Pool Livestock Division, moving to North Battleford, Sk. in 1949 and then joining Intercontinental Packers in 1956. In 1960 he transferred to Saskatoon and in 1965 became the Head Livestock Buyer until his retirement in 1989, but continued to buy cattle in the Sale Ring until 1993. He will be remembered for his work ethic, honesty and integrity in the cattle industry.

In 1993, Charles and Betty moved to Vernon, BC to be near family where they resided until their passing.  They spent warm winters in Arizona until 1998.

Dad enjoyed golfing in the summers and curling in the winters. He was a member of Spallumcheen Golf Course until 2016. He enjoyed watching his great-grandchildren play soccer, hockey, lacrosse and dance.

A Memorial Service, with a reception to follow, will be held for family and friends on Monday, May 07th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home.
