In loving memory ~
Charles Thomas Buffie (Tom), beloved husband, dad, grandpa, and friend passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on March 10, 2025.
Tom was known and loved for his warmth, kindness, humour and generosity. He constantly lifted others up with kind words and smiles. In Tom's presence, everyone felt like a special and important person. He had a true gift for encouraging others, and he spread joy and laughter wherever he went.
As a beloved teacher and counselor at Fulton Secondary School, Tom is warmly remembered by countless students for his fun and creative lessons, and the non-judgmental and caring way he treated them.
Tom faithfully attended First Baptist Church for 55 years, where he served as a deacon and youth leader. He was a regular fixture at church events, always supporting and encouraging others. One of his favourite jobs was presenting the children's story, which he did in the most creative, entertaining and memorable ways, including walking live barnyard animals down the aisle of the church!
Tom leaves behind his beloved wife, Marlene, with whom he shared 60 wonderful years of love and marriage. Tom was a devoted father to Garth (Bonnie), Tracey (Benny) and Mike (Shawna) and a proud grandfather to Joshua Buffie, Moriah Buffie, Tyler Ho, Justin Buffie, Taia Buffie, Caleb Buffie, and Solomon Buffie, all of whom will fondly remember his happy, playful and loving spirit. Tom is also survived by his sister Donna and brother Doug (Colleen), and he is predeceased by his brother Jack.
Tom's life was a testament to his deep love for his family, his friends, and his faith. We will forever treasure the love, joy, and laughter he brought to our lives. His legacy of compassion, generosity and love will live in the hearts of those who knew him forever.
A celebration of Tom's life will be held on May 24, 2025, at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church.
