Charles Robert “Bob” Trumbley
Charles Robert “Bob” Trumbley born February 25, 1947 in Vernon BC, passed peacefully with family by his side on Friday May 03, 2013 at the North Okanagan Hospice House.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Shirley and their children Dean (Denise) Trumbley and April (Art) Trumbley and five grandchildren; Bree Ann, Dylan, Shayla, Denver and Paige.
Bob is also survived by his mother Anna “Flo” Trumbley, sisters Gloria (Grant) Schultz and Marlene (Ches) Beattie and numerous nieces/nephews, extended family and the entire Metis Community.
Bob was predeceased by his father Charles Robert “Smokey” Trumbley in 2008.
Bob was born in Vernon and graduated from Vernon High School in 1965. He worked for Consumer’s Glass for many years eventually transferring in 1986 to Toronto. In 1993 an employment opportunity allowed him to come home to Vernon, where his heart has always been.
Bob worked for Metis Nation British Columbia increasing awareness and advocating for the Metis Nation as an elected Board Member. He held the Ministry portfolio for Natural Resources and had a true love for outdoors.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at the Falkland Community Hall on Saturday June 1st from 11 – 2pm for potluck lunch. The family welcomes all to remember, reminisce and share a meal together.
In lieu of flowers, a collection will be taken so that the family can make a donation to the North Okanagan Hospice House in Bob’s name.
