Cheryl Lee Grywacheski passed away at Hospice House in Vernon on Sunday, June 6th, at the age of 61, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Cheryl is predeceased by her father, Ross Phillips and son, Jeffery.
Cheryl is lovingly remembered and survived by her husband, Mike Grywacheski, daughter, Stacey (Ken) Davidson, grandchildren Blake and Brady Davidson, mother, Laura Novikoff, as well as, sisters Brenda (Fred) Wrona and Peggy (Dwayne) Erickson. She is also fondly remembered as “Aunty Cheryl” to Keri, Kaley, Kori, Janelle and Katie.
Though she was taken away much too early, Cheryl’s kind spirit, genuine smile and infectious laugh will remain a part of the many people she encountered in her life. She was selfless and always put the needs of others ahead of herself. Cheryl was a beautiful person who deeply cherished the time she spent with family and friends. She loved gardening with Mike in their beautiful yard, sleepovers with her grandchildren Blake and Brady, and pizza nights with Stacey, Ken and the boys. She enjoyed walking with the girls, camping and concerts with friends, and of course a glass of chardonnay with her special friend, Gail.
Instead of a funeral, Cheryl wanted her friends and loved-ones to come together in celebration. An open-house in remembrance of Cheryl will be held at Mike and Cheryl’s home, on Sunday, August 3rd starting at noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to North Okanagan Hospice Society at 3506-27th Avenue, Vernon, BC.
