It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christine Marie Stroh on Thursday October 4, 2018 at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
Christine was born in the Bronx, New York and lived a good part of her life in Northern California and the Seattle, Washington area before moving to Vernon, BC in 1991. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, Archie Stroh, son Michael Luce and his wife Cedra of Bellevue, Washington, sister Cate Andrews and her husband Tom of Pam Springs, California and Archie's children Jodi and Jason (Graham) of Calgary, Alberta, Mackenzie (Chris) of Brooklyn, NY and Jordie of Vernon, BC. She was 'Bella' to three grandchildren - Taven, Julian, and Kailani. Her beloved dogs, Zoe and Teddy will miss her terribly. Additionally, she leaves communities of friends on both sides of the border.
Christine had a diverse career, including time spend as a real estate agent in Washington before moving to Vernon. She was passionate about her work with the Kal Tire Christmas fundraiser in its' formative years and was supportive of several other local charities.
There will be a celebration of Christine's life held in Palm Desert this winter and in Vernon next spring. Christine's ashes will be spread at Big Sur, California in a private ceremony.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the many friends who have reached out with incredible support at this difficult time and want to especially recognize the compassionate and professional care of the nurses and physicians of the 5th and 6th floors of the Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
We trust that her cherished soul has finally found peace.
