We regret to announce the passing of Sonny at Vernon Hospice following a three year struggle with cancer. Sonny will be forever loved and missed by his wife of 43 year, Lois; his children David (Alisa), Sarah (Lynds) and his grandchildren Hannah, Kye, Averie and Alyna.
Survived by his mother Cora Leibel (Peter); sisters Joyce and Cheryl (Doug); stepbrothers Rick (Wendy), Jeff (Jodi) and Doug (Teresa).
Sonny is predeceased by his father Charles, brother David and stepfather Jim Leibel.
Sonny’s working life was spent in the bush as a faller and heavy equipment operator. An avid outdoors person, his interests included hunting, fishing and camping.
Always active, when illness forced him from these, he turned his talents to gardening, woodworking and sewing. His favourite times were those spent with his cherished grandchildren: Hannah, Kye, Averie and Alyna.
A Celebration of Sonny’s Life will be held at the family home in Lumby on July 16 at 1:00 pm.
