It is with great sadness we announce the passing of the late Clara Deis, after a courageous battle with cancer on August 18, 2004 at the Douglas Fir Unit at Cottonwoods Extended Care, Kelowna, BC. She is survived by four children: daughter Carrol Cleverley (Tim) of Lumby and their children Clint (Rhonda) and their children Kallista and Demica, Clay Cleverley (Chrysta) and their children Jaryn and Jessi, Curt Cleverley (Elisha); daughter Pearl Myers (Malcolm) of Lumby and their children Roxy Heinen (Martin) and their child Carson, Kyle Myers; son Jerome Deis (Miranda) of Vancouver and their children Madeleine and Amelia; daughter Donna Deis of Vancouver. She also leaves to mourn two sisters Annamary Donhauser of Kelowna and Emma Numada (Joe) of Kelowna; three brothers: Matt Zarr (Chris) of Kelowna, Ted Zarr (Marg) of Kelowna; George Zarr (Shirl) of Lumby; several nieces and nephews. Clara was sadly predeceased by one sister Carrie Tirk, one brother Wendal Zarr and one great grandson Ian Cleverley. Clara was born in Unity, Saskatchewan on June 25, 1933. For most of her life she resided in Lumby, Vernon and Kelowna. She was devoted to her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 25th at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Center for the Southern Interior, 399 Royal Avenue, Kelowna, BC V1Y 5L3.
