CLIFFORD EDGAR T. DAVIES
passed away September 5, 2005 with Muriel, his wife of 65 years at his side. Predeceased by his sister Muriel Lewington. He is lovingly remembered by his children Thomas (Linda), Carolyn (John) and Ted (Donna), 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and his cat “Goofy”. Born in Frank, Alberta on February 13, 1916 and came to Vernon at the age of 3. He lived on an orchard in the BX, moved to Lavington in 1946 where he continued as an orchardist/farmer, he also drove ambulance, taxi and school bus. He was a School Bus Supervisor (School District #22) for 26 years until retirement in June 1981. In retirement he enjoyed his garden/yard and loved camping. He was an excellent woodworker, making cedar chests for all his grandchildren. His family and friends were endlessly entertained with colourful stories of his hunting and fishing adventures. When he was no longer able to hike through the bush or take out his canoe, long drives to the mountain lakes and over logging roads brought him great pleasure. He was happiest surrounded by his family and will be greatly missed and never forgotten. A Memorial Service will be held at Vernon Trinity United Church on Sunday, September 11, 2005 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
