Clifford Maurice Freeman was born at home in Needles, B.C. on November 3, 1916 and left this life on October 17, 2011 at Vernon, B.C. He spent his youth in Needles and as a teen, his family moved to Langley. His interest in agriculture began at this time and he was involved with the Boys and Girls Club for many years. After 4 years of courtship, Clifford married the love of his live, Verna Beverly Devine Freeman, and they remained together for 67 years until last November when Verna died. Clifford and Verna bought a farm on Mable Lake Road, Lumby in 1960 and there they raised 6 children. Over the years, Clifford was a member of the NOCA dairy board, an area director for the regional district and a charter member of the IOF-Vernon Branch. Clifford enjoyed fishing and visiting with family and friends. Clifford will be forever loved and remembered as the gentle soul that he was by his children- Carol (Norman) Bliss, Nancy (Donald) House, Marilyn Freeman and Murray Freeman, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren all of the Vernon area, sister Beth Deans of Salmon Arm, sister Hazel Menzies of Sardis, and a large extended family and friends. The celebration of his life will be held October 29, 2011 from 2pm – 4 pm at the OAP Hall in Lumby. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Vernon Jubilee Tower (2101- 32 Street, Vernon B.C. V1T 5L2).
