Clinton Ringe Mussenden

Clinton Ringe Mussenden passed away at Vernon on Sunday, June 21, 2009, Father’s Day.

Clint was born in Vancouver on December 27, 1931 and began his extensive career in the shoe business as a young teenager sweeping floors on weekends for his father who owned a footwear wholesale and importing business. Once he finished school, Clint continued in his family’s business and travelled throughout BC as a shoe salesman. In 1977 Clint moved his family and footwear business from Vancouver to Vernon and eventually went from wholesale footwear to retail and operated the Vernon Shoe Store for over 25 years.

Clint’s most cherished times were spent with family. He also loved his pets and reading history. He had been a Rotarian and was a member of the Canadian Shoe Travelers Association.

Clinton will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Helen of Vernon, children Greg (Dorothy) Mussenden of Vernon, Tracy (Rae) Skolovy of White Rock, Grant (Kim) Mussenden of Kelowna, Brenda Luttmerding of Armstrong, Terry Sheremeto of Enderby; seven grandchildren, Steven and Scott Skolovy, Grai Mussenden, Erica Luttmerding, Miranda (Matthew) Vanderhorst, Brennan and Corey Sheremeto; brothers John and Paul of Vancouver; sisters Jackie and Lois; extended family and many friends.

Celebration of Life Tea will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2009, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Schubert Centre, Vernon. Memorial contributions may be made to the North Okanagan Hospice Society.
