The family of Colleen Dickson announce her peaceful passing November 7, 2021 at the age of 92. Colleen was predeceased by her husband Russ in 2012.
She will be lovingly remembered by her five children Judy Loog (Tony), Tim Dickson (Eva), Marni Niles (Russ), Barb Durno (Bill), and Jane Dickson. Grandchildren are Gina Osborne (Tyler), Kathryn Loog, Terry and Julia Dickson, Evan (Agnes) and Megan Durno, Graham (Hannah) and Capt. Mark (Kate) Niles, and Taylor, Rachel and Delaney Gilmore.
Colleen, christened Margaret Ann Colleen Groves, lived a life of joy, friendship and love. Family times were the best of times for her, but her many friends could also count on her for caring companionship and good times. She was a graduate of the Royal Alexandra Hospital nursing school and kept in touch with her classmates. She was also a well-loved volunteer with Girl Guides of Canada and All Saints Anglican Church. She sang in the church choir and with the Vernon Community Singers for many years. She and her husband Russ owned and operated Electrical Enterprises until their retirement. At the same time, Colleen also looked after the administrative side of the dental practice of Dr. Bernie Grages and the late Dr. John Matthews.
The family would like to acknowledge the guidance of Dr. Peter Henley through Mom's later years and the loving care she received at Heron Grove, with special thanks to the staff in Cottage Six.
Funeral services will be held at All Saints Anglican Church Saturday, November 27 at 2:00 pm by invitation only. The service will be broadcast live at https://youtu.be/RrKYFvlHNAU. It will also be available at the same site for viewing later.
In lieu of flowers, donations to All Saints Anglican Church (http://www.allsaintsvernon.org/) in Colleen's memory would be appreciated.
