Constance Cross


Passed away peacefully in Vernon, B.C. on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at the age of 92. Connie was born in Stettler, Alta. and raised in Victoria, B.C. She was predeceased by her husband William Cross, good friend Andy Driver and her brother Basil Wright. She is survived by her two sons, Basil and his wife Joan of Vernon, Woody and his wife Kathie of Kelowna, four grandchildren, Corrinne, Kevin, Kimberly (Dustin) and Katie, also three great grandchildren, Tyler, Rylee and Shelbi. Connie took ursing in Victoria and worked in nursing until her marriage and move to Kelowna, where her husband’s family owned a tomato cannery. With numerous stops in B.C., she and her family settled in Kamloops, where she worked for many years in the Kamloops School District, until retirement took her back to Vernon. It was in Vernon where she would find over 20 years of enjoyment being involved with the Schubert Centre, taking on many jobs and meeting new friends. She would always have a story to tell her family about what the Schubert Players were doing next. For the past 3 years Connie has resided at Heritage Square and her family would like to thank all of the staff who cared for her during this time. A memorial service will be held on May 29 at 2:00 p.m. at Schubert Centre.
