It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Cora Mae Irving at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital on August 23, 2004 at the age of 85 years.
Predeceased by her husband, Ian and son Gary, she will be greatly missed by her daughter Lynn Irving, son Gordon (Moe) Irving, and granddaughter Noelle Irving.
Cora’s gift of humor stayed with her until the end. Everyone who knew her, loved her. From a farm girl in Bruce, Alberta to a working fashion model for T. Eaton Co. in Toronto. She always had that certain touch of style.
Her granddaughter Noelle was the joy of her life. She loved her family and she was always there for them.
Cora moved to Vernon in 1953 and all she wanted in life was to raise her children and be a great mother and grandmother, which she did so well.
Cora spent nearly two decades in the cub & scouting organizations in Vernon as an Akela and an assistant scout leader. She was a great inspiration to many young people and was always willing to help.
Cora was an avid gardener in her day and she enjoyed gardening and cooking with her many friends in the Chinese Community in Vernon.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to the Vernon Funeral home. A private memorial service will be held at the home of Moe Irving, on Saturday, August 28, at 2:00 p.m.
Our heartfelt thanks to Dr.Mori and the staff of the Vernon Jubilee Hospital for all their kindness and support.
