With great shock and sadness we announce the sudden passing of Dainis Viktors Mednis. Much loved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and best friend. Leaving to mourn: mother Tekla, wife Shannon (O’Brien), son Lukass (Tiffany Winberg), granddaughter Keena, soon to be grandson Talis. Sisters Zanie Morrissey, Ruta (Richard) Dimond, brother Paul (Janet Digman), Inlaws Jim and Swanell O’Brien, Kelly (Cheryl), Kevin (Diane), Nieces and Nephews: Daniel (Kelly), Sarah Morrissey, Stephen & Michelle Dimond, Wyille Mednis, Micheal, Erin, Kody (Kaylena), Kayleen O’Brien, Caroline Glavins. Dainis was involved in the sports of: Hanggliding, Skiing, Speed Skating, Cycling, XC Skiing, and Running. He has many life long friends from various pursuits. He was born in Williams Lake, raised in Quesnel, worked in Grande Prarie, Hinton, Victoria, Calgary, Vancouver, and the Okanagan as a telephone technican. He enjoyed music, and dabbled with the guitar, ukelelee, mandolin, and he loved to sing.

He was very compassionate and was able to make anyone smile with a corky sense of humor. He had a way with people and animals, the love and respect being mutual. He was able to put his family and friends first no matter the situation and will always be remembered as a great person that left this world far to early.
