David Beverley (Dave) Stewart


was born on April 7th, 1939 in Saint John, New Brunswick and passed away on December 26th, 2007 in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital at the age of 68 years.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Maureen, to whom he was married for 42 years; his daughter, Anne Heikkila and grandson, Nolan; his son, Richard Stewart (Dawn) and grandson, Owen; his brothers and sisters, Patricia Clinton, Robert (Helen) Stewart, Janice (Angelo) Sessa, Douglas (Gerry) Stewart and Richard (Cindy) Stewart; many nieces and nephews; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles & Jenny Gorman and their family of Manchester, England. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Kelvin Heikkila.

Dave spent many years in Ontario in the mining industry, moving to B.C. in 1964 where he spent several years in Revelstoke, working on the Mica Dam Project. He then moved to Stewart, B.C. where he was a heavy duty mechanic in the mining industry, followed by a move to the lower mainland where he operated his own business and then on to Vernon for retirement.

Dave loved older cars, gardening and cooking. He was an avid follower of many sports including hockey, golf, baseball and football. He was a dedicated family man who enjoyed his family and was especially devoted to his two grandsons.

In respecting Dave’s wishes, he was cremated and there will be no Funeral Service held.
