February 11, 1970 - August 9, 2019
With broken hearts we announce the passing of David Christopher Crerar, (Christopher, also affectionately known by his nickname "Pirate"). Born on February 11, 1970, Chris was involved in a tragic motorcycle accident near Kamloops on the 9th of August, 2019.
Christopher is survived by his loving wife Christie, their sons Tyler, Jared and Jacob, parents Alison and David Crerar, brothers Jeff (Amber), Steve (Andrea), nieces and nephews Meghan, Mackenzie, Joshua, Alexandra and Porter. He also leaves behind Christie's parents Pete and Pat Henchen, sister Jennifer (Steve), niece Ivy, nephew Owen, and his beloved dog Buddy.
Chris grew up in Calgary, attended school both there and in Golden, BC, and owned 'Topher's Trucking and then Pirate Transport. He was a highly respected professional driver of anything that moves, logging trucks to heavy equipment.
A talented amateur photographer and artist, he loved the outdoors, boating, riding his bike or quad, snowboarding, and loved flying with his dad.
His tremendous love for family and friends was returned to him by so many at a Celebration of Life at the Splatsin Community Centre on the 24th of August, attended by over 500. All will remember him for his kindness, generosity, honesty, love of life, sense of fun, and big bear hugs, but especially for his huge heart.
Thank you to all our family and friends for your loving and ongoing support.
