David will be lovingly remembered by his three children; Eileen (Doug) Foster of Langley, B.C., Jean (Jake) Esau of Brandon, Manitoba and Robert (Wee Rabbie) Kim (Tootsie) Crawford of Coldstream, B.C., his grandchildren; Scott (Su) Sheldon, Mark (Jennifer) Sheldon, Rheanna (Les) Moore and Serene (Trevor Fremlin) Crawford, his great-grandchildren; Cameron, Aidan, Noah, Roan and Taylor along with numerous extended family members and friends. David joined the Royal Airforce under age in 1943 and served until 1947. He was a Rear Gunner in a Lancaster Bomber in the II World War. He immigrated to Canada in 1953 and soon met and married Dorothy Jaffray. After Dorothy’s passing, David married Irene Callingham. He had various employers in Vernon over the years until his retirement at the age of 55 years. David was a very gentle and artistic man who loved fly-fishing, painting, bowling and was considered by many, the worlds greatest fix-it-man! He had two major dislikes in his life, tattoos and men who swore in front of women and children.
In respecting David’s wishes, he was cremated and no service will be held. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory David to the Canadian Cancer Society #104 3402 – 27th Avenue, Vernon, B.C. V1T 1S1.
