Born September 18, 1912, in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan, passed away October 28, 2004, in Vernon, British Columbia, aged ninety-two years. Dad was the first born of David and Harriet Lowe, who were homesteading at Gull Lake, Saskatchewan. The family moved to Kyle, Saskatchewan, while Dad was young. It was while he was working on a farm he met Violet Westgard and they were married on September 11, 1932. Mom and Dad farmed in the North Landing area of Saskatchewan and moved to Kyle for the younger children to attend school. While in Kyle, Dad worked for the Co-op, driving the fuel truck. In 1964 the family moved to B.C., settling in Vernon. Dad was an active member of the Old Age Pensioners and the Schubert Centre. Survived by: daughters Ella (Derek) and Shirley of Kamloops; sons Rodney (Gaile) of Kyle, Sask., Gordon of Armstrong, John of Vernon; one son-in-law, Miles of Ontario; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandsons; one sister, Phyllis of Langley; sister-in-law Evelyn, Kyle, Sask; and other family members. Predeceased twelve days prior to his own passing by his wife Violet Cecelia Lowe, to whom he was married seventy-two years. Also predeceased by daughter Donna, parents, one brother and one brother-in-law.

A joint Celebration of Life Service for Mom and Dad will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 6, 2004, at the Schubert Centre, 3505 30th Ave., Vernon, B.C., followed by a reception at the Centre. Burial to take place at a later date in Kyle, Saskatchewan. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may make memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Association or Canadian Cancer Society.
