David Micheal “Zipper” Zimmerman was born on September 16th, 1958 in Vernon, B.C., son of Conrad & Eleanor Zimmerman. He was baptized on December 9th, 1958 and confirmed in the Christian faith on March 26th, 1972. He passed away suddenly but peacefully in his sleep at his residence in Lumby, B.C. on June 18th, 2010 at the age of 51 years.
David will be lovingly remembered by his wife Danielle; three sons, Conrad and his children, Tyler, Joshua and Damyen, Michael (Kylie) and Kealyn; one daughter, Amanda (Ronnie); his mother, Eleanor; one brother, Darren (Allison) and Brandon, Curtis and Chloe; his father-in-law, Peter; his mother-in-law, Joanne; and his brother-in-law, Sean. He was preceded in death by his father, Conrad in April, 1983; and his brother and sister-in-law, Douglas & Donna in May, 1983.
David received his education in Vernon and he graduated from High School in 1977. He worked many after school jobs in lumber mills, Eatons and later full time at Noca-Dairyland until the plant closed. He was accepted on May 3rd, 1978 as a volunteer in the Vernon Fire Department training program. He was also a Security Guard and Private Investigator until his early retirement due to ill health.
The Funeral Service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 5151 Alain Road, on Friday, June 25th, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Roy White officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of David to the charity of their choice.
