It is with great sadness that we wish to announce the passing of Debra Sue Burnham (previously married name Debra Sue Specht) on February 16, 2025 at the age of 73. Deb left this world, at Vernon Jubilee Hospital, holding the hands of each of her daughters. She was born in Cranbrook BC, February 13, 1952 as the beloved daughter of Clifford Burnham and Genevieve Iris Burnham (Brown).
She is survived by her daughters Lisa Sue Marquardt (son-in-law Trevor) and Shawna Lee Specht (son-in-law Wade). She also leaves behind her granddaughter, Nichelle Sue Marquardt and grandson, Mason James Marquardt. Deb would definitely not want us to forget her fur-baby, Mya.
Deb was predeceased by her parents, Clifford and Genevieve Burnham, her sister Marianne Gracia (Art) and Gary Burnham (Paula). Both of her siblings' children and grandchildren brought so much love and joy into Deb's life.
Deb had a curious mind and a passion to learn that allowed her to take several different career paths during her life. She touched many lives with her desire to help others.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Creekside Landing Assisted Living for their kindness, generosity of spirit and making her feel so cared for.
Deb was raised in the Coldstream, where she had many beautiful memories. She will be returned there to rest with her parents and the family will have a private service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Okanagan Humane Society.
