Denis George Hardy was born May 19th, 1930 in Cowansville, Quebec and died peacefully on June 16th, 2010 in Vernon, B.C. with his family members by his side.
Denis will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends. He is survived by Freeda, his wife of 52 years and children; Elizabeth Anne (Don), Paul (Cathy), Jennifer (Andrew) and Janet. “Doodie” will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Alistair, Jocelyn, Theo, Clara, Nate, Camille, Pippa, Sebastian, Julian and Owen.
Denis lived for many years in Deep River, Ontario, working as an engineer for Atomic Energy of Canada. In retirement he lived in Calgary, Alberta and Vernon, British Columbia.
Denis loved the outdoors. He was passionate about nordic skiing, mountain biking and paddling. He was an avid bird and wildlife watcher as well as a keen history and aviation buff.
His greatest love however, was family. He spent countless hours over the years captivating his children and grandchildren with stories and reading, and always had time for one more chapter.
