Dianne Everetta Hawthorne, of Vernon, British Columbia died Friday, September 10, 2010 in Vernon Jubilee Hospital after a long, tough fight with heart and lung disease.
Born in Ladysmith, British Columbia, September 10, 1939, to William and Clara Miller, Dianne served in the Canadian Military contributing as a Nursing Assistant. After discharge, she went on to became a Licensed Practical Nurse where she spent the remainder of her working career caring for others.
Growing up in northern Canada, she was a dreamer; a spiritual person who loved everything about wolves. She saw the wolf with its fierce loyalty to family, and its strength and fortitude as her spiritual guide. Dianne embodied the spirit of the wolf, a fighter whose loyalty and faith in her family was unwavering and never tested. Her two sons, Sean and Derek, and her beloved little buddy, Razor, survive Dianne.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September the 19th, 2010 at the Vernon Fraternal Order of Eagles, 5101-25th Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 1P5.
