Enderby resident, Dirk Vandermeer, aged 76 years, passed away peacefully at his home on August 11, 2006. Predeceased by his daughter Donna Poirier, March 1991, Dirk will be lovingly remembered by wife Victoria, son Raymond (Rhonda) Vandermeer, of Canoe; grandchildren Michael, Jessica and Barry Poirier; sisters Florence DeVries of New Jersey, Janjse Mellink and Lucy DeJong both of the Netherlands; extended family. Born at Warns, Netherlands on February 17, 1930, Dirk immigrated to Canada in 1950. He and Victoria were married April 6, 1956. Dirk was employed by the Government as a Milk Tester from 1966 until retirement in 1995. He enjoyed family, as he and Victoria raised their grandchildren after retirement, gardening and fishing. Dirk will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and a good neighbour. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a. m. Saturday, August 19, 2006, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church Hall.
