It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dona Hale on Saturday, April 13th at the age of 54 years after a courageous battle with cancer.
Dona is survived by her husband Allen and their three loving daughters: Sharlene (Aaron), Sharon, and Ginina (Tyler) and her four adorable grandchildren: Dekota, Sydnee, Tyson and Bearett.
She is also survived by her parents Jim and Betty Hampshire and her siblings: George, Darlene, Jim, Eugene, Ken, Peter, and Allan.
Dona was born in Kamloops, BC, and spent her youth and teen years in England. In her early twenties she returned to Canada with her husband and two daughters, Sharlene and Sharon ~ Ginina was born in Canada. Both Dona and Allen were on a mission to work hard and retire early. So, in addition to raising their family, Dona and Allen, with the help of their daughters, worked long hours and built a trucking business, followed by the successful ALDON recycling business, as well as numerous other sideline businesses. Unfortunately, health was not on her side, and she did not get to enjoy the fruits of her labour.
Spending time with family was of paramount importance to Dona. She adored each one of her grandchildren and she wants them to know she will never forget them. They are going to miss their “Nanny”.
Please join family and friends for a Celebration of Dona’s Life at 11 am on Saturday, April 20th at the White Valley Community Centre, Lumby. Donations to North Okanagan Hospice Society, Vernon.
