Donald Allan Austin


Donald Allan Austin, aged 73 years, passed away at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Tuesday, January 2, 2007, his 39th AA Birthday. Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Don served with the Royal Canadian Air Force, was a Master Craftsman, Kayak builder, artist and poet.

He enjoyed helping others, was an alcohol counsellor, loved traveling and exploring. Don was predeceased by his son Kevin. He will be lovingly remembered by wife Phyllis of Vernon; children Dawn Marie Sturt (Rae) of Prince George, Karen Forrest (Peter) of Georgetown, Ont., Vicki Austin (Larry) of Calgary and Michelle Austin (Ron) of Priddis, Alberta; siblings Joyce Fisher of Red Cliffe, Ab., Keith Austin of Regina, Sk., Norma Frank of Saskatoon, Sk., Eleanor Christi of Red Cliffe, Ab and Ken Austin of Medicine Hat, Ab; nieces, nephews and many friends.
