After completing five years with the Canadian Air Force at Trenton, Ontario as a Radio Technician, In 1967 he and his wife Janet moved to BC to start their new life in Ladner. Don’s first career was with BC Air, then CP Air then Canadian Airlines where he work until Air Canada’s assimilation, He then retired after his final posting in Montreal as after 911, the work structure changed and he retired back to Vernon.
Don’s talents were in anything he could take a part, and apparently did a lot of that as a kid and eventually had come to enjoy electronics. In his early years 1960’s he enjoyed Rally Racing all over and Canada and the US…He later found a passion in ice racing cars in the 1980s and spent many winters racing at Barnes Lake out of Ashcroft. Soon the ice on Barnes Lake did not last long to race anymore and he retired his race car to a friend.
He loved music where he sang with three different barbershop chorus’s as a baritone. He loved the challenge. He had a great passion for family and his dog Rosie who passed three weeks before. In lieu of flowers please make a generous donation to the Canadian Heart and Stoke Foundation. The family will be hosting his celebration of life at a later date in 2021. Alternative Funeral Services in charge of arrangements.
