Donald (Don) STOKOE

Mr. Donald Newton (Don) Stokoe was born on November 21st, 1917 on a farm in the Wheat Sheaf district of Altario, Alberta and passed away on August 12th, 2007 at Heron Grove, having reached the age of 89 years. As a teenager, Don went to live with his aunt in Oakville, Ontario where he completed his education. Don worked for the Loram Construction Company for over 25 years. On June 27th, 1959, Don married Mabel and they had a son, Kevin. They loved to travel and spent many winter months in Arizona, California and Florida. Don’s hobbies included gardening, golfing and skiing. Don will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mabel; his son, Kevin of Mukilteo, Washington; two brothers, Robert Stokoe of Brooks, Alberta and Charlie Stokoe of Westbank, B.C. and many extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by one brother, James and three sisters, Jean, Elizabeth and Dorothy. The Funeral Service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church on Thursday, August 16th, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Richard D. Schulz officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
