Donald Garry Bonsan

June 27, 1954 – May 25, 2022
After a long and hard battle with cancer, Donald Garry Bonsan, surrounded by loving family and friends, slipped away gently and peacefully on the beautiful, sunny afternoon of May 25th, 2022. Donald will live in the hearts of his daughters, Meagan and Sarah Wieringa, brother Ray Bonsan, nieces, nephews, and many friends that he has encountered through his years amongst us. Donald was predeceased by his mother Louise Chamings, father Charlie Bonsan, brothers Gary and Wayne Bonsan, and sister Dorreen Henderson.
Donald was born in Vernon, BC on June 27th, 1954. This was where he laid his roots and stayed for most of his life. He and his siblings had a love for vehicles very early in life and that carried on with him. He was a passionate poet, avid fisher, and had a love for nature and life itself. Anyone who encountered Donald was astonished by his ability to create beauty out of what seemed to be nothing to most. Donald was full of wit and wisdom that he passed on to many and that many will pass on from him. Donald strived to be a loving and kind person to all life that he encountered. Donald will be dearly missed but he is in the loving arms of his creator where he longed to be, and know he will be watching over all of us. We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to everyone at the North Okanagan Hospice and the M.A.I.D. service that allowed Donald’s last days to be filled with love, support and understanding. In lieu of flowers, any donations to the Pro-Life thrift store in honour of Donald will be accepted.
