It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Donald Geoffrey Taylor at the Heritage Retirement Home in West Kelowna after a long battle with cancer. Don was born in Blenheim, Ontario and moved to Alberta as a young boy with his family. He was predeceased by his wife Betty, his parents Charles and Florence and his brothers James and Wilfred. Don and Betty were married on May 24, 1947 until Betty's passing in 2014. He joined the Calgary Fire Department in 1952 and retired as captain in 1987. He was a great outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. Don and Betty moved to the Okanagan in in 1994 where Don enjoyed his love of fishing. He is survived by his sons Lawrence (Evelyn) and Ronald (Judith), daughter Victoria (Michael), 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. The family wishes our sincere thanks to all the doctors and nurses who cared for him as well as the staff at the Heritage. There will be no funeral by request. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favourite charity.
