Donald John Sanders


Donald John Sanders (Feb 14, 1920-Jan 19, 2007). Don lived many years in Vancouver, and Abbotsford, coming to Coldstream, in 1995, he is survived by his son Frank of Fort St. John, BC, his loving wife Elsie of 29 years, step-daughter, Sheila (Terry) Kereliuk of Vernon, one sister Margery Katen, nieces and nephews in San Francisco, granddaughter Tara, great grandson Calvin of Grande Prairie, Alberta, three step-grandsons, and their families, David of Creston, BC, Michael of Quesnel, BC, and Sandy of Vernon, daughter-in-law, Bonnie Carr of Quesnel. Don was predeceased by his parents, one brother Frank and one sister Nora. Don served in Merchant Mariners and R.C. Navy 1941-1945, going ashore in many parts of the world. He held many different jobs including the Vancouver City Police, truck driver and a second hand store merchant. Don was left with poor health in his latter years. Don passed away at the Gateby Intermediate Care Facility at the age of 86 years. Don will sorely missed by many friends and his loving family and the staff on 3 West at the Gateby Care Facility. At Don’s request a private family service will be held at a later date.Being Together… that’s all we really need. The longer I know you the more I care, and the more I value each moment we share. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the PLEASANT VALLEY FUNERAL HOME (542-4333).
