Doreen M. Seaton

July 21, 2020

September 26, 1924 - July 21, 2020
Doreen was born in Enderby, BC on September 26, 1924 in Enderby, BC, and passed away peacefully July 21, 2020 at the Evergreen Seniors' Home in Campbell River, BC.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Mr. Justice Peter D. Seaton (Pete), her parents, Mabel and William Curry, sister Sybil Fox, brothers-in-law William D. Seaton, Bruce Blatchford, and Kenneth Nesbitt. She is survived by sisters Anne Blatchford of Calgary Alta., Kay Nesbitt of Penticton, BC and Barbara Leard (John) of Campbell River, BC. Also left to mourn her is a large extended family of nieces and nephews and close friends.
Doreen was loved and respected by family and friends who were fortunate enough to be part of her life. She and her late husband Pete loved to travel and experienced many parts of the world together including Canada's far north, Russia, Tibet and China as well as cruising in the Caribbean.
Doreen continued to travel solo following Pete's death to the many destinations they had planned on visiting together, she had an adventurous spirit and kept us enthralled by her determination and independence when touring various countries especially in the Middle East.
She and Pete also spent many happy hours sailing the coastal waters of BC, from West Vancouver to the Johnstone Strait with stopovers along the Sunshine Coast, Desolation Sound, Gorge Harbour and areas along North Eastern Vancouver Island. Doreen enjoyed skiing and had great times at Silver Star Mountain.
Her favourite pastime was bridge and she always looked forward to her "two table" sessions with friends. She was proud of her accomplishment in becoming a certified Bridge Master.
The entire family fondly remembers the days spent at the camp on Okanagan Lake in Vernon with Aunt Doreen and Uncle Pete, and of course the ever present cookies and cakes. She was every ones Aunt Doreen.
A family gathering was held at the Vernon Cemetery, with Reverend Jeff Seaton conducting the burial service as she was laid to rest beside her loving husband Pete.
Doreen Treasured Family Above All Else.
