Doreen was born in Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan and she led a very interesting and full life. As a young woman she was very active in sports. She then moved to Vancouver where Linda was born and in 1964 the family moved to Vernon BC where she became very active in the community.
Doreen was a full-time mother and throughout her life her family was always her top priority. In spite of this she managed to find the time and energy to involve herself in many community activities such as Community Concerts, the United Church Women and Explorers.
