Dorothy Ruth Brazier (nee Clark), affectionately known as Tootie, died Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 6:00 am after a brave struggle with deteriorating health. She is survived by her sons John and Michael, daughter-in-law Dagmar, and grandchildren Jack, Erin, Thea and Kate Maguire. Ruthie was predeceased by her beloved first husband Jack Maguire QC, by her second husband Charles Brazier QC, and her long time companion and dancing partner, Dr. Gardy Frost. Recently, Ruthie was comforted and supported by her dear family friend, Peter Barclay.
She was also predeceased by her parents General and Mrs. J.A. Clark, and her brothers Don and Jock. She is survived by her sister Maggie Coleman, whose daughter, Daphne Frost was of particular comfort to Ruthie during her final days, along with the countless thoughtful visits of family and friends.
Her life was fully and happy. Ruthie enjoyed close ties with the Clarks, the Maguires, the F rosts, and her many friends in Vancouver. Each summer Tootie looked forward to swimming, fishing, and gardening at her cherished Agate Bay.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, April 19th, 2007 at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Kerrisdale Anglican Church. The Reverend Kevin Dixon will be officiating.
