Our dear mom passed away peacefully on July 1, surrounded by family when she was called to join Len, to whom she was married for 62 years.
It is with great sadness and gratitude that we celebrate the life of this loving soul, and her enduring zest for life. Mom will be dearly missed, and we are grateful for her long life as she became a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Our multi- talented mom could do many things, and she inspired caring and creativity through example.
Trained as a registered nurse, Dorothy met Len through a church youth group and discovered a mutual love for helping others and community. Whether working as a nurse, as foster parents early in their marriage, teaching Sunday School, or as volunteers hosting Jopos and Jopettes with the Winter Carnival, mom found tremendous joy in helping others flourish.
An entrepreneur at heart, she and dad owned and ran the Blue Stream Motel, and Garden Ice Cream Parlor for 24 years.
Mom will be lovingly remembered by her three children Duane (Lorraine), Kathy (Keith), Mike (Charlene); grandchildren, great grandchildren and all who knew her.
