May 29, 1929 - May 15, 2018
It is with great sorrow we mourn the passing of Lorraine Galloway, our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend; she will be deeply missed. Lorraine is survived by her son Robert (Kathy) and grandchildren Josh and Marci; and son Gordon (Carol). She was predeceased by her loving husband of almost 63 years - Norman Galloway and her son Jim.

Born in Vancouver, BC Lorraine spent her youth in Richmond where she developed her passion for teaching. In 1950 she married Norman Galloway and later that year they moved to Vernon to soon begin their family. Once her boys were old enough Lorraine returned to teaching full time in 1969 and eventually retired from the SD #22 Board Office in 1984.

Lorraine was an outgoing woman who was ALWAYS involved in social activities and participated in various community groups. The Vernon Powerhouse Theater, Vernon Winter Carnival, and North Westside Fellowship Church each held a special place in her heart.

Lorraine spent many summers with her family and friends on Okanagan Lake and many winters in Arizona. In retirement Lorraine and Norman got "hooked on travel" which began as a Snowbird visit to Arizona and quickly flourished to worldly adventures to Panama, China, Scandinavia, Russia, Thailand, Mexico, Spain, Britain, and many other destinations.

Lorraine's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Canterbury Court and to Kimberlee Support Services for the exceptional care and compassion they provided Lorraine over the last several years.
