Dorothy Elizabeth Smith
We regret to announce the passing of Dorothy Elizabeth Smith. Dorothy was born in Armstrong on August 21, 1920, and passed away at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital on May 07, 2007 at the age of 86 years. Dorothy lived in Armstrong her entire life. She worked at Pea Growers for 52 years and retired when the business was sold in 1995. She was a lover of cats, dogs and flowers. Dorothy volunteered for many organizations and was a dedicated worker for the Red Cross for over 55 years. In 1998 she was nominated as Good Citizen of the year. Dorothy will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by special friends Cal and Dot Haggard and family, Doreen Couldwell and family, nieces nephews, cousins and many friends. Dorothy was married to Charles Herbert Smith April 19, 1963 who predeceased her April 28, 1995. Also predeceased by her only brother Cecil Bird June 17, 1997 and parents Leslie and Emma Bird of Armstrong. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Red Cross. Funeral Service will be held at Zion United Church on Friday, May 11, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with interment in the family plot of Armstrong-Spallumcheen Cemetery. Reverend Kelly Grittner officiating.
