March 10, 1952 - April 25, 2020
Doug was born to Bruce Joseph Adams and Madeline Catherine Adams (Fischer) in the farming community of Mayerthorpe Alberta on March 10, 1952. Doug trained to be a meat manager butcher and throughout his career he impacted the communities he lived in of Lesser Slave Lake, Alberta, Watson Lake and Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Valemount, Vernon , Lumby, and lastly Enderby, British Columbia.
Doug's biggest impact lives on through the people he left behind - the love of his life Gerri Behm and 2 step sons Brad and Rob, 5 of his own children, Kevin Adams, Sylvia Gretchen, Bruce Morton, Lisa Scott, and Erika Corsi and his most precious legacy of 16 beautiful grandchildren. Doug impacted countless strangers, friends, co-workers and neighbours with his generosity and kindness.
Doug was the kind of Worker who would remain loyal and committed - even when it didn't make sense to be.
Doug was the kind of Neighbour who would give you the shirt off of his back - even if he didn't have one for himself.
Doug was the kind of Friend who would give you his only $20 bill - even when he couldn't afford to.
Doug was the kind of Father who made you feel unconditionally loved and accepted - even when you didn't deserve it.
Doug was the kind of Grand Father who would stop time for you and give you his full attention - even when he didn't have the time. His sparkling blue eyes and his dazzling smile lit up any room and in his presence you instantly felt loved. Losing him has left a gap in our hearts that will never be filled.
A man much loved. A life well lived.
