Douglas Gerald Fischer

FISCHER, DOUGLAS GERALD

December 21, 1946 – April 22,2008

Doug passed away at Vancouver General Hospital during

surgery. He was born at Neepawa, Manitoba. He leaves

behind his wife Judy, son Travis, 2 brothers Bill (Deb) & Ken, 2

sisters Evelyn Peacher and Donna (Larry) Tulak, many nieces &

nephews, his in-laws Norm & Mary Dale.

Predeceased by his parents John & Mae Fischer, and an infant

sister Lois, his brother-in-laws Cyril Peacher and Gordon Dale,

and nephew Leslie Peacher.

Doug loved his equipment and auctions sales. He enjoyed

playing slow pitch with the guys and was looking forward to

playing again in Palm Springs. He played rec hockey for many

years, both at the Coast and in Enderby, and has many scars

to match the ones he left.

Golfi ng was a new hobby with the family’s involvement in the

building of the Mabel Lake Golf Club. He was always up for

the annual hunting trip, whether it was for elk or moose.

Doug loved his ‘66 Vette and enjoyed many a drive to Armstrong

for a peanut buster parfait!

So let’s think of Doug in a pain free world, full of golf courses,

collector cars and satellite TV to watch the Nascar races and

follow the Canucks.

Donations in lieu of fl owers will go towards a concrete picnic

table to be placed on the “Gordon Dale Trail” c/o Box 100,

Enderby, BC, VOE 1 VO.

Memorial service was held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at

Riverside Hall, Ashton Creek.
