With regret the family announces the passing of their beloved mother, EDITH DAVIS (nee Harwood) on Friday, October 15th, 2004 in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital at the age of 96 years. She was predeceased by her first husband, Wilfred Leonard (Tiny) Cawte, her second husband, Isaac (Buck) Davis, five brothers, one sister, one grandson, Brian and one step-son, Tom. She will be lovingly remembered by her three children; Vivian Derrick of Summerland, B.C., George (Roberta) Cawte of Castlegar, B.C. and Pat (Tony) Michael of Summerland, B.C., two step-children; Jim (Terry) Davis of Vernon, B.C. and Lila (Ed) Owens of Oyama, B.C., numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Edith was a lifetime resident of Vernon, having been born here in 1908 to Joseph & Marion Harwood. She was a long time member of the Pythian Sisters. A Reception will take place in the Tea Room at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Saturday, October 23rd, 2004 from 1:30 – 2:30 P.M. with interment of Edith’s cremated remains following in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Edith to the charity of their choice.
