Edith Marie (Gagnon-Dawson) Berkholtz passed away at Vernon on Wednesday, June 2, 2010. Born June 6, 1915 in Five Fingers, New Brunswick, Edith was the last of her family.
Edith is survived by daughters Elsie and Bonnie; stepchildren Maxine, Glen, Gail, Harold, Loyde, Ivan and their spouses; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by eleven siblings, sons Donald and Raymond; daughters Dorothy, Shirley and Irene.
Edith was educated in Clinton, Main, USA, then moved with her parents, to Pinedale, Alberta. In 1930 she married Charles Dawson and homesteaded for some years, then went into the lumber industry. They moved to Edson, Alberta where Charles passed away in 1966. In March of 1974 she married Roy Berkholtz and moved to Armstrong. Roy passed away in 2001. Edith moved to Vernon and for the last few years has resided at Heron Grove.
A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, June 5 at Personal Alternative Funeral Chapel, Armstrong. Chaplain Bill Pantzer officiated. Cremation arrangements in the care of Personal Alternative Funeral Services, Armstrong, 250 546-7237.
