Edith Milliken passed away at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on May 19 at the age of 95 years. Edith was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in 1917. She married Ernest Milliken on July 23, 1938, and moved to the family farm at Craven. They raised their family on the farm, and retired to Lavington, BC in July 1968, where she was a member of the Lavington Work Group for many years. They enjoyed 18 years on their acreage, and then moved into Vernon in 1986, where Edith volunteered at the Schubert Centre.
Edith is survived by her children, Donna (Larry) Morningstar of Lockwood, SK, Ken (Arlene) Milliken of Vernon, Dave (Suzanne) Milliken of Kelowna, Sandra (Gord) Cummins of Edmonton, AB, and Richard (Linda) Milliken of Okotoks, AB, 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, and a loving extended family. Edith was predeceased by sons Eugene and Bobby in infancy, her husband Ernest in 1988, and daughter Vi in 2004.
A celebration of her life was held on Thursday, May 24.
