Apr 6, 1929 - Mar 28, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ed Page of Armstrong BC at the Vernon Hospice House with his family at his side.

Ed will be greatly missed by his wife Jenette of 62 years, and his family: daughters: Cathy of Calgary AB, Sandra (Doug) Dinan of Kelowna BC, Terri (Bob) Pruden of Sturgeon County AB and Tricia (Chuck) Patterson of Calgary AB, grandchildren: Scott (Lindsey) Pruden of Fort McMurray AB, Ryan (Erin) Pruden of Sturgeon County AB, Carly Dinan of Edmonton AB, Curtis Dinan of Kelowna BC, great grandchildren: Abbey, Mackenzie, Tanner, Gabrielle, Brock and Ava, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ed was born in Kenora, Ontario and was working in the Edmonton area when he met Jenette. After sweeping Jenette off her feet, they were married in 1956 in Rycroft AB.

Ed spent most of his working career in Fort McMurray, moving his family to"Fort Mac" to work in the tar sands in 1967. Ed was a lifelong supporter of the Fish and Game Association and was a great outdoorsman and loved all things outdoors - fishing, hunting, camping, archery, and target shooting.

Ed retired to the Okanagan in 1991 and had more time to pursue his many interests: wine making, golfing, gardening, garage sale shopping, playing dominoes, enjoying his coin collection, making puzzles, feeding the birds (especially quail which we called "Dad's chickens") and reading cowboy novels.

Ed loved old wood-working tools and enjoyed sharing his collection of hand saws and planes with the Shuswap Pioneer Collectors Club. Ed was quite the storyteller and could bend your ear and always had opinions on local politics, his days working in the oil patch and his days growing up in Killarney Calgary. Ed always carried his camera in his pocket and liked to take photos of all things - his family, garden and he had a soft spot for tractors.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Ed's health caregivers including the excellent staff at Vernon Jubilee Hospital, the caring Community Health nurses and staff at Vernon Hospice House Society. They were of great comfort and support during Ed's illness over the past 6 months.

A Celebration of Life will be held at All Saints Anglican Church, 3205 - 27 Street, Vernon on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the North Okanagan Hospice Society, 3506 27th Avenue Vernon, BC V1T 1S4
