1937-2016

Our loving Grandfather, Father, Husband, Uncle, and friend …. Ed … passed away peacefully on April 15th, 2016 at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.

Ed was born on March 10, 1937 in Bruno, Sask. to parents, John and Mary Kristian. His working career was spent with Canada Safeway and it is here that he met his wife of 52 years, Rose Annette Gonie. Work took them to several places around B.C. and eventually they settled in Vernon with their 3 children: Mardy, Jodie, and John.

A lover of fishing, hunting and the back country, Ed spent every spare moment he could find teaching his children about the great outdoors.

A man of dignity, faith and integrity, always willing to lend a hand with no expectations of return,

he will be deeply missed.

Ed is survived by his wife, Rose; 2 daughters, Mardy (Doug) Lemiski and Jodie Kristian (Todd Harris); son John Kristian; and by the greatest pride in his life, his grandchildren: Brett Lemiski, John Lemiski, Kaia Kristian and James “Boone” Harris; Godson, Scott Kinnee; brothers: Ray, Jerry and Donnie: sisters: Irene, Darlene and Gloria; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Henry, and nephews, Lance and Randy.

Our family would like to extend its immense gratitude and appreciation to all of the doctors, nurses and staff in ICU and Vernon Jubilee Hospital. You are an amazing group.

Ed was a devout Catholic. Prayers will be recited on Friday, April 29th, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. with Memorial Mass to follow Saturday, April 30th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 10102 Middleton Drive, Coldstream, BC.
