H. EILEEN MCCULLOUGH
Passed away December 18, 2014 in Vernon, British Columbia. Born May 20, 1926 in Toronto, Ontario. Predeceased by three infant sons, her parents Lyall and Jane Mathewson, her brother in-law Hart Jackson and nephew Craig Jackson, and by her cousins Brian Craig and Ed Tudball.
Eileen is survived by her children Steve (Deb), Neil, Glenn (Deb), Dan (Colleen) and Maureen McCullough, her sister Amelia Beryl Jackson, niece Lynn, nephew Scott, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Mom loved creating a comfortable home for her family, and later for herself. Her move to British Columbia in 1985 was an opportunity for many new adventures. Family was always her main focus. Music was a big part of Eileen’s life whether singing solo in front of large crowds as a young woman in a choir, or singing around the campfire with friends and family. Her passion in life was doing the most she could for her children. After the kids were older she enjoyed her work as an x-ray dark room tech/file clerk and later as a nanny to other peoples children. The family wishes to thank Heron Grove cottage #4 staff for their extraordinary commitment to our mother’s care for the past 8 years. A special thank-you also to Chaplain Sharilynn at Heron Grove for her kind spiritual words, and thank you to Dr. Barb Picken.
Due to our mothers love of animals, in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Okanagan Humane Society or The
Alzheimer Society of British Columbia would be appreciated. A celebration of Mom’s life will be held at a later date.
