EILEEN DORIS OLSEN (NEE FINDLAY)
March 26, 1924 – May 31, 2007
The family of Eileen Olsen sadly announces her sudden passing during a visit to Invermay, Saskatchewan on May 31, 2007. Eileen was born to James and Annie Findlay on March 26, 1924 in Invermay, Saskatchewan. She was the third of twelve siblings. On December 16, 1946, she married Eric Olsen of Invermay, Saskatchewan and enjoyed 53 years of marriage together. Four children were born to them, Robert, Carol, Bette, and William.
While being a mother to four children, she held many jobs including: homecare, foster parent, glass plant, fruit union and cook. Eric and Eileen spent many years camping and fishing around Western Canada. For the last year Eileen resided at Coldstream Meadows Retirement Home in Vernon, BC. Eileen enjoyed the staff and many friends she made there.
Eileen will be lovingly remembered by her children Bob (Linda), Carol (Bill), Bill (Sonya), all of Vernon, British Columbia and Bette (Bill) of Georgetown, Ontario; special daughter-in-law Carroll, of Vernon, BC; eight grandchildren: Eric (Tracey), Chris, Chad (Keri), Shilo, Tonya (Dan), Jolene, Sam, Ashley and Jess; seven great grandchildren Robert, Leif, Hannah, CJ, Peyton, Jack and Brooklynn. Also lovingly remembered by friends, extended family and her special sister Marie Nilsen. Eileen was predeceased by her husband Eric Olsen on April 28, 1999.
The family of Eileen Olsen would like to send special thanks to Verna Carlson, Walter Husarewich, Betty Hubick, Mike and Lorretta Husarewich for assisting the family in their time of crisis.
Cremation preceded the graveside service that was held on June 3, 2007 with Terry Tompkins in care of arrangements in Invermay, Saskatchewan.
